About Me
I'm Sarah.
I'm glad you're here
As an education consultant and social worker that has worked with children in all sorts of settings, I help people find the right school fit for their child. I specialize in PreK-12th grade placements in both public and private schools, working with each individual family to assess their needs and goals.
I help you get clear on your educational goals for your child, inform you about all the options that exist, and guide you towards a school decision that you feel confident about.
How I Support Your Family
Finding the right school is a bit like fitting the pieces of a puzzle together. My role is to help you see the full picture—what your child needs, what your family values, and how each school aligns—so the decision feels grounded and meaningful.
I help you uncover your underlying educational values so we can anchor decisions in what matters most to your family.
I get to know your child deeply—their strengths, challenges, temperament, and the environments where they learn best.
I bring years of firsthand, boots-on-the-ground knowledge of Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill schools through:
campus tours
conversations with teachers
interviews with school leaders
relationships with parents across the Triangle
I translate all of this into clear, aligned school recommendations that fit both your child and your family’s goals.
I guide you through the “why” behind each option so your final choice feels thoughtful, meaningful, and grounded.
For relocating families, I offer the trusted, local insight you simply can’t get from Google searches or school websites.
How Triangle School Consulting Began
When I was just five years old, I knew I wanted to grow up and have a career in education. I have always been drawn to teaching and helping others and I ultimately received my Masters of Social Work where I spent 14 years working in various educational fields. I have worked with all types of children, supporting their academic growth and enhancing their social and emotional lives. My career experience has included managing educational programs, working in the public school system, and creating and delivering various curricula to both children and adults. The largest part of my social work career involved orienting immigrant and refugee families, primarily from East Africa, to the education system in the United States through in-home visits, public school advocacy, and after school tutoring for the children.
And then I became a parent. I began a quest to learn about every educational method possible, to weigh the options and wade through the research- all to find the perfect educational philosophy for me and my child. And all along the way, I’ve met hundreds of parents who essentially want the same thing: a great education for their child. I’ve had countless conversations with parents who are:
- Overwhelmed with choices
- Wanting the best for their child but who don’t know where to start
- Unsatisfied with their current educational situation but don’t know what else to do
And so began Triangle School Consulting, founded to help parents just like you. To give you the tools and knowledge you need for this journey and to help you feel confident in the education decisions you ultimately make. The Triangle area offers countless opportunities for your child aside from your zoned public school. Whether you’re interested in magnet schools, charter schools, or independent schools, navigating the school choice process does not have to be overwhelming and stressful. As your education consultant, I will ensure that you feel confident in choosing the best school for your child.
